What is a Leotard ?
A skintight, one-piece outfit called a leotard covers the wearer's torso but leaves the wearer's legs uncovered. A leotard is comparable to a swimsuit in that regard. leotards are unisex clothing that performers who need full body coverage without sacrificing flexibility wear. Leotard has an extended history; it was first introduced in the 1800s, by the French acrobatic performer Maichel Léotard (1840–1891), from which the name of the garment was derived. Originally leotard was designed for male performers, but it became popular with women in the early 1910s as a swimsuit. The Early leotard was referred to as the maillot by Maichel Léotard.

Today, leotards are available in a variety of colors and materials, preferably modal or spandex (a material with an exceptional elasticity that helps to shape the body better). There are also sleeveless, short-sleeved and long-sleeved leotards. Further, various necklines can also be found in modern leotards such as crew neck, polo neck, and scoop-neck.

What is a bodysuit ?
Bodysuits are one-piece, form-fitting clothes that cover the wearer's torso and groyne. A leotard or a swimsuit appear to be very similar to a bodysuit. The main distinction is that, unlike a leotard or swimsuit, a bodysuit contains snaps or hooks at the crotch. Bodysuits come in a variety of colours and fabrics (such modal and spandex). Bodysuits are not regarded as athletic or sporting apparel. Bodysuits were first introduced in the 1960s by fashion designer as a development of the leotard. In the 1990s, bodysuits were popular among both men and women.
